Global Dominance

A rumor surfaced on a Beatles fanboy site, claiming that Apple and the Fab Four have come to some sort of agreement to sell Beatles music on the iTunes store. As the story goes, The Beatles brilliant remix, Love, will reportedly be the first album to hit the iTunes site, perhaps as early as Valentine's Day. Fortune magazine fanned the flames, recently claiming that a special Beatles edition iPod might be part of the deal.

.................................................................
This is big news for Apple and the digital realm, whomever controls the Beatles catalog controls the world. This is the holy grail of music, everyone owns a Beatles cd but not everyone has a digital copy of the Beatles. I know, people can just rip their cds but trust me, they will gobble these songs up. If Apple scores this catalog, Microsoft with Urge, Napster 2.0, Rhapsody and the rest of the loser music stores should close up shop. I also don't see the Beatles catalog making its way to everyone, it will remain exclusive. The iTunes music store has everything a person could want except a subscription service. If the demand grows that will be another Apple announcement.
