Best Port In The World

I would like to thank my friends Brent & Laura for buying me a bottle of Rutherford Hill's Zinfandel Port on their last trip to Napa Valley. If you have never had this stuff you are missing out, its liquid gold. Even if you are not a fan for port, you will be blown away. It's thick and juicy with a hint of alcohol taste. A number of vineyards out in California have been experimenting with zinfandel and petit sirah for ports but Ruthford Hills has perfected the process. This vineyard also makes the brandy that is used to convert the wine into port. I am now on my 3rd bottle over the last few years and its become a yearly tradition. Unfortunately the price is a bit steep, $50 for the 750ml and $35 for the 375ml but its worth every penny. Below is a little writeup from their website....

New Release:
Rutherford Hill
2002 Zinfandel Port

Some people think Port is for old British geezers sitting in overstuffed chairs in wood-paneled men’s clubs and reminiscing about the Empire... not ours. This is more like Zinfandel in overdrive, full of fruit and power and ready to rock!

The exceptional Zinfandel fruit used for this wine is also used to make the distinguished Germain-Robin brandy which is added to the Port to fortify the wine. It is produced from 100% Rutherford Hill Zinfandel from the Napa Valley.

One taste of our Zinfandel Port can shift your gears from weekday to weekend: Good-bye stress, hello celebration!
