Princess Cruise Day 8
Sunday, August 27, 2006
Yesterday was a sailing day where we spent a good time on deck lounging in the sun. The North Sea was very calm and you could see oil rigs in the distance.
Today we boarded the bus and headed into Amsterdam. It was a little over an hour ride and we saw the old and newer windmills covering the landscape.
We arrived in Amsterdam and took the tram into the city center where we spent somerime walking around. We went thru the red light district but it was 11am on a sunday morning so most of the action hadn't started yet. We did see a few ladies perparing themselves for the day and getting their windows in order. We saw the “coffee shops” and yes people still believe in wake n bake.
After leaving the red light district we took a canal boat tour ride around town which was very cool. I took a ton of great pictures and we saw the highlights of the city. We had lunch and by then it was about time to leave. Tomorrow is Belguim but we are staying on board to pack and save some money. Tuesday is Paris and that is a whole day event. We will get back too late to get our luggage together and the next day will be miserable with our flight back home. We have a day flight back and if all goes well we should be back in the states by 5pm.

2:35 PMI love Amsterdam. It is one of my absolute favorite cities. Glad you got to see it.
