iPhone

We went to the Apple store yesterday to see first hand the new iPhone. I have to say, I was very impressed and would actually consider one. Not now but at a future date, maybe next year or so. It fits in the palm of your hand and is no bigger than the Motorola Q. The phone behaves like the widgets on the mac and moves in and out when selected. The coverflow for the ipod portion is very cool except you would have to make sure all your files are tagged correctly. The browser shows a full page and when the phone is turned sideways it rotates into a bigger view. I didn't get to play with the internet very much so its hard to tell how the speed. The address book was easy to navigate and with your finger you just move it up and down the screen and the list moves. The google maps was pretty cool as well, its like having a walking gps, well as accurate as free map sites are. The final thing was the keyboard or lack of. Its a touchscreen keyboard that inflates the letter when you touch it to verify thats the one you wanted. It took a few tries to type my name but I think with some practice it would be easy to use. Rumors are, corporate email support may make its way to the iPhone in coming months.
