Good Music Is Back

Back in the 90s a new station emerged in Detroit under the name "The River". It was classic alternative and roots rock but after a while turned to boring adult contemporary. I had thought it went off the air but this afternoon while driving around with my friend I rediscovered the station. I heard new songs from Son Volt, Wilco, Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse. I also heard classic Psychedelic Furs, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Cult and David Bowie. And it doesn't end there, I also heard some Ben Harper, Tragically Hip and Allman Brothers. The range of music on the station is classic alternative, new indie rock, roots rock, classic rock and alt country. All great music and its about time since radio has been lacking in the Motor City. The River is owned by the Chum radio group who own 89X and a few of their DJs are now over there. Being Canadian owned, you still get 10 minutes every hour of Canadian bands. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
