Congress 1 White House 0

The House Judiciary subcommittee just approved supoenas for both Karl Rove and Harriet Miers regarding Gonzalesgate. Tomorrow the senate is expected to do the same. The white house tried to extend an olive branch yesterday to congress in the form of closed doors, no oath, no transcript private meetings for the executive staff. Come on, anyone can see that with no transcript and no oath its all lies and misdirection. If congress gets them under oath and behind closed doors then I will be fine otherwise its a showdown and I have my popcorn ready.

Bush believes that he can pull off a Clinton here when Bill went head to head with Newt Gingrich and shut down the govt over the budget. Problem here, the country was on Bill's side not Newts and the country is now on congress's side with this scandal. Bush is up against the wall and has nowhere to turn. The spinmeisters will be out in full force and will try to make us believe no president has ever sent their people to congress in open committee. Lets talk about Clinton, Hillary and penty of his staff were under oath and in the spotlight, why is it now different.

If Bush wants a fight I say go for it....
