Tanya is back with a new solo record entitled "This Hungry Life". It was recorded in front of a live audience but is not a "Live" record. She had her fans join in and watch the band record over a weekend. It would have been fun for a couple hours but a whole weekend, I would go insane.

It starts off with track 1 "New England" a lighthearted Bellyesque song with lots of Tanya vocals. Track 2 "World On Fire" gets back to the Tanya of late, the acoustic/folksy singer songwriter over the last few years. You have a slide guitar and some twang. The next few songs continue with the same style and separates the old Tanya from the new one. Track 8 "Days Of Grace" speeds things up a bit but still has the honkytonk feel. I saw her a few years ago at the Magic Stick and it was a very cool show. The crowd was mixed there were some annoying indie rock kids and adults who have followed Tanya thru her career. In person she is very small, no more than 5ft. I am not in love with this cd but it is better than her last one which tended to tread on the boring side. I would give it a 7 out of 10.
