Summer Is Officially Over

Today was a great day to be outside, it was in the mid 60s and sunny. It was also that day that summer died, well for this year. We tore up the garden and all the flowers along side the fence. We also started raking the leaves and rototilled the beds. We still have a few things left in the garden, 1 tomato plant, 1 habanero, 2 chili pepper, some leeks and our herbs. We will give them another week to finish and then they are gone.

I also planted some new bulbs in the back for next year. We have some blue super asters, white dragonflower, a ton of different alliums and some lollipop lilies. I am still waiting on some asiatic and indian lilies that should be arriving soon. I ordered some really cool bulbs from Michigan Bulb and can't wait to see them grow next season.

One of the great things about Berkley is that we can rake all our leaves and old plants into the street for pickup.

You know, as a new blogger I'm always afraid that I'll post boring stuff. But, Randy is always here to remind me that there is something more boring out there....

Nice shot of the leaves, Sutton.
