Charlotte Gainsbourg is back with a new cd entitled 5:55. It features a host of big names and is an amazing record. Air wrote and played the music which is why on first listen you think its a new Air release. Jarvis Cocker and Neil Hannon assisted Charlotte with the lyrics and Nigel Godrich produced the album. It has a very organic sound, lots of piano and strings with a bit of electronic atmosphere. Charlotte switches between French and English with little trouble and it reminds me of Isobelle Campbell with the whispering vocals. I am not going to praise Charlotte for being an excellent musician but I will give her credit for the people she brought in to help her record.
