I just opened a bottle of the Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon and love it. The wine is produced in Oakville which is located within Napa Valley but the grapes do not come from the area. As you can see the label states California so the grapes can come from any area around the state. Don't let this deter you, for $17 you are getting a very good cab.

This is the 1st time I have heard of the vineyard so I checked out their website. The wines range from $11 to $45 with their Syrah at the top. From what I gathered Joel Gott is also known for their Zins a common wine for the area.

As for the taste, its very juicy up front with a nice balance of tannin on the backside leading to a smooth and lingering finish. Ed at Simply Wine has a few more bottles left, so if you are interested head on over.
