An Inconvenient Truth

I went and saw Al Gore's movie yesterday and I highy recommend it to everyone. Its not a doomsday, we're all going to die movie. Its a wakeup for everyone to see that its possible to change our current course. Remember the ozone hole scare? Well as a nation we helped solve that problem. We were able to get the rest of the world on board to stop the CFCs that were eating away at the ozone layer. If we have the right leadership, we could do the same when it comes to greenhouse gases. Al had a chart showing mpgs set by nations around the world and we were in last place. The auto industry would like you to believe that raising our CAFE standards would hurt our producers, well thats not the case. We can't even sell our big cars to countries like China, they have higher standards than we do. Interesting from a country like China who tends to disregard many environmental issues has higher mpgs than the US.
Al does a good job rebuking all the naysayers on the global warming debate, he gives enough scientific data that the only ones who disagree have something to do with big oil. The data is in, we are affecting our climate and have increased our global temperature. The movie is only an hour and half, take an evening and go see it.
