Chateau Bonnet

If you are looking for a good French White Bordeaux, check out Chateau Bonnet, its a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. It is from the appellation Entre-Deux-Mers within the Bordeaux region. It is very clean with lots of mineral and citrus. It is also very crisp like you would expect from a Sauv Blanc but has a more tart flavor coming from the Semillon.
I have been on a French wine kick lately and have come to love their whites. We just had a Chablis the other nite with king crab legs and it was amazing. Just like the whites, French reds also are great. Look for 2000, 2003 and 2005 (not yet released) Bordeaux's. If you see a 2000 grab it and stick it in your basement.
I would love to drink some Burgundy's but they tend to be too expensive whereas you can get a good Bordeaux for as little as $10-$12.
Besides the northern and middle regions you have all of southern France with their unique wines. This fall I will commit myself to trying more from the Rhone and Languedoc Roussillon regions.
Simply Wine has this bottle for about $13.
