Podcasting 101.

If you havn't experienced podcasting yet, download iTunes and get started. Within the iTunes music store there is a section called Podcasts, this is where you can download free files for your enjoyment. Podcasts can range from a number of things, news, interviews, music, comedy, sports you name it, there is a podcast it. NPR will release its radio shows as a podcast, if you miss it during the day you can download it and listen later. I have a number of podcasts that I check out, my favorite ones are Napa Valley Wine, Wine For Newbies, The Oz Wine Show, KEXP and Barak Obama's weekly broadcast. You can listen to them on your computer or transfer them to your ipod. You subscribe to the show and iTunes will automatically look for updated episodes and will download them for you. I recommend deleting after listening because these files can range from 10 megs to 100 megs depending on the length and if video is present. You can eatup a lot of hard drive space in no time if you are not paying attention. Any subject or hobby you are interested in, chances are there is a podcast to go with it.
