Quote Of The Day

"The President believes that he has the power to override the laws that Congress has passed. This is not how our democratic system of government works. The President does not get to pick and choose which laws he wants to follow. He is a president, not a king."
............................................
This was a response by Sen Feingold to Bush's attack on our civil liberties. Bush thinks he's king not president and can wave his magic wand and run a police state. It was music to my ears to see the Patriot Act shot down on Friday, its about time the people have stood up to Bush and co. They like to spin it but the truth of the matter is there are only some provisions that were set to expire, the majority of the Patriot Act is permanent.

The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution reads as follows:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
