Wine Shipping News

http://www.freep.com/news/mich/wine2e_20051102.htm

With this latest ruling, buying wine over the internet from out of state vineyards is one step closer to reality. A federal judge in Detroit ruled that out of state vineyards can now ship to residents, but I have a feeling we will have to wait for the legislature to come up with guidelines before we can start.

"Lawyer Robert Epstein of Indianapolis, who represented the Healds, said consumers should expect the state to issue temporary permits soon to out-of-state wineries allowing shipments directly to Michigan consumers."

I will start checking the big producers and see if they have changed their websites, I just hope Rep Cox doesn't call for some crazy injunction to block shipping.

Since wine is usuallly lumped together with beer (licenses and such), are there any regulations pertaining to beer? I'm just thinking about the micro-brews from Montana that I pine after. My brother can only smuggle so much Moose Drool in his car per trip.
