Matchbook Chardonnay 2006
Thursday, March 13, 2008
This wine is part of the Crew Wine Company which also owns 3 other labels. The Matchbook showcases grapes from the Dunnigan Hills region in northern California. There are some nice tropical flavors here with hints of green apple a crisp finish. This wine isn't over oaked but there isn't much butter and creme to this bottle which I found a bit disappointing. It feels like a Sauvignon Blanc on the finish with the tight citrus and acidity. I will try it again tomorrow to see if the flavors change. Not bad for $15 tho and it would be a great summer wine.
