In this weekend's political fodder, you have Rep Mark Foley (R-FL) resigning on Friday due to a underage sex scandal. What makes this story interesting is that it just broke on Thursday with a couple of emails that on the surface seemed a only a bit innapropriate. On Friday new IM chat sessions surfaced which nailed Foley and he resigned. The House leadership knew about these emails last year but have worked to keep them under wraps fearing another sex scandal. Now we have Foley child perv and a coverup, when will these people ever learn. Btw, Foley helped craft legislation to cut down on internet predators was on the house caucus of missing and exploited children. That fat slob of a leader Dennis Hastert is on the hot seat with all this since he knew about it a year ago and did nothing. I hope the pressure stays on him and forces him to step down.
In other news, Bob Woodward released a new book lambasting the administration and the war. Instead of coddling Bush and painting him in a good light he shows everyone what this administration has been up to. Too little too late, I guess we shall see.
Out favorite corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff has been shown to have met hundreds of times with the White House and staff. This will get buried over the latest scandals but it does show that Jack is not going away.
Sen George Allen is still a racist and denying he ever used the "N" word. Allen brought this all upon himself with the macacca comment and has blown his chances for president in 08. Lets hope it also loses his senate seat in November.
