New Babybird

One of my favorite songwriters Stephen Jones is back with a new Babybird release Sept 25th. You may remember "You're Gorgeous" from the 90s but there is more than that to Jones. I spent a good amount of time collecting all the original releases of his first 5 recordings under "Baby Bird" only to have a box set released a couple years ago. At least I have 1 of the original 1000 released for each cd, "I Was Born A Man", "Fatherhood", Bad Shave", "The Happiest Man Alive" and "Dying Happy". Along with just about every cd single, BabyBird is my most complete discography of a band. You will find releases under Baby Bird (Stephen with a 4 track), BabyBird (Stephen with a backup band) and Stephen Jones (solo, not that him with a 4 track isn't). I think Will Oldman aka Bonnie Prince Billy wins the contest for the most monikers recorded under. At last count there are 6 that I know of and there could be more.
You can hear two tracks off the forthcoming " Between My Ears There's Nothing But Music" on Stephen Jones's MySpace page.

Old Skin: Piano based, slow song here, reminicent of "Bugged".
Dive: Starts out with some guitar, something we havn't really heard from Jones in a while. It has his trademark lyrics you expect with some rock n roll to grab your attention.
I am really looking forward to this new cd, these 2 tracks are great and we can only expect the same will follow with the full length.

5:28 AMYou know, I haven't heard anything by him since "You're Gorgeous". I'll have to give it a listen.
