London Day 2

Well we completed day 2 of our adventure but I wanted to start off with last nite.  Some friends of ours who live in london took us to an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in West London called Saigon.  It was the 1st time we have had Vietnamese and it was excellent, lots of flavor and spices.

Day 2
We started off by heading back to the tube and down to Liecaster Square the Theatre district.  We looked at getting discount tickets to Avenue Q but there were none.  We decided to splurge and buy full price ones at the box office.  From there we headed back to the tube and over to Vinopolis near Tower Bridge.  This place is awesome its a wine, whiskey and beer tasting store with a restaurant.  There is a self guided tour along with the tasting but that was lame.  We had 5 regular wines, 2 premium, 2 whiskey, 1 bombay saffire cocktail, 2 absinethe and 2 beer tastings.  All for £20 and they throw in a free tshirt.  Anyways I had a french pinot noir from Burgundy, a rose that kinda sucked, a chinese reisling that was even worse, a great Argentinian Torrentes and a sherry that I didn't care for.  My premium wines were a 10 year old port and French Vouvray both were excellent.  The beer was ok didn't finish those not Bells so not worth drinking.  The martini was really good and I learned a new way to make them and the whiskey was good but a bit too strong to finish.  Not a huge whiskey fan here and even cutting it with water couldn't help.  The best part was the Absinthe we had 2 tastings the classic French that is anise in flavor and the Checkoslovokian that is very high in alcohol.  Its more the novelity of drinking it since its illegal in the US than anything.  My lovely wife even bought me a small bottle that we can drink on the ship for our anniversary, I promise I won't fall overboard after drinking.  I won't bother trying to bring back too much of a hassle.

After our afternoon of drinking we headed back to the hotel to change and back out again to the show.  Avenue Q was very funny and politically incorrect I highly recommend seeing it.  Something about puppets and profanity, you can't go wrong.   Well that sums up our day, tomorrow off to the markets, fish and chips and doubledecker bus ride.

I'm really disappointed in you for not finishing your whiskey, you wimpy-ass wine drinker! I kid because I'm intensely jealous of your trip.
