Fastest Mac Ever
Tuesday, August 08, 2006
Feast your eyes on the future, the fastest Mac ever to grace this earth. Its the new Mac Pro released yesterday and includes the Dual Core Intel Xeon up to 3ghz. In laymans terms, this machine has the equivalent of 4 processors in one machine. You can add up to 16 gigs of ram and up to 2 terabytes (2000 gigs) of hard drive.
In other news, Apple gave us a sneak peak of their new operating OS 10.5 Leopard. This will be out in the spring probably before Microsoft ever gets around to releasing Vista. From what we have seen, Apple has built in virtual pcs called Spaces, this allows you to launch different apps and keep them organized into separate areas which you can tab thru. It makes working on a number of different projects easier to manage. You also have Time Machine, a data recovery tool to protect you from deleting important files. The graphics for this alone are what makes this app really cool. iChat will allow you to add video graphics behind you for basic amusement. Besides that, iChat has desktop sharing so you can work with another person on a presentation at the same time live. There are a few other enhancements to Dashboard, Mail and Calendar plus more to follow. It will be an exciting upgrade and I can't wait til next year.......
