Microsoft has updated Windows Media Player to version 11 and included their new mp3 download service. Microsoft has partnered with MTV, VH1 and CMT to provide us with the iTunes killer. Problem is, the software sucks, it took forever to install, crashed 3x while I was searching and is no different than version 10. Its still in Beta but the software will not be competition for Apple, not as user friendly as iTunes. They are offering a subscription service like Napster the only advantange over Apple but I don't see that lasting for long. I have a feeling that if Apple realizes people are signing up for subscriptions, they can flip the switch and launch their own.
