Another Tasty Zin
Thursday, June 29, 2006
I just opened a bottle of Lake Sonoma Winery Dry Creek Zindfandel and it was a great $15 bottle. I got it from Ed down at Simply Wine and I highly recommend it. The wine has a great bouquet and lots of juice with a hint of spice. Its dark red and has a 15.5% alcohol level but suprisingly mild for that level. You can tell a good wine when its alcohol level is high but u are not tasting it. Zins tend to be higher than other wines but this is one that keeps the juice upfront and lingering. The vineyard is located in Sonoma County, next door to Napa and the grapes come from the Dry Creek appellation with a small percentage from Mendocino County and Sonoma Valley.
