$400 Million For Retirement

If you were wondering why gas has been so expensive the last couple years, well here you go. Instead of a party and a clock like most people, Exxon gives out $400 million golden parachutes. I bet Bush has written a nice little tax loophole for doublechin which allows him to keep it all. I am still wondering why we had to give the oil companies 8 billion for research in the last energy bill its not like they need it. There's your govt at work, next time someone says republicans are good for cutting taxes and balanced budgets, remember our little friend here.

Soaring gas prices are squeezing most Americans at the pump, but at least one man isn't complaining. Last year, Exxon made the biggest profit of any company ever, $36 billion, and its retiring chairman appears to be reaping the benefits.

Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.
