RETAIL: Ikea store to open June 7
Detroit Free Press, March 31, 2006
Ikea, the Swedish home furnishings store, will open its Canton Township store June 7, it said Thursday. The 311,000-square-foot store, on 21 acres at Haggerty and Ford roads, is the company's 28th U.S. outlet.
Store manager Mark McCaslin said the company is hiring and training some of the unit's 400 employees.
Ikea stores are known for their inexpensive, you-assemble-it furniture. Grand openings typically draw thousands of people.
.............................
Erika and I talked about it and I think we will wait a couple weeks and then take a wednesday off of work to go. Its going to be a madhouse the 1st month on the weekends, I recommend trying during the week.
