Cheney Continued.....

I am a bit perplexed by the whole story, but I still think the constant questioning is good on the media's part. On Hardball tonight, Chris Matthews one who has been known to carry the administration's water made a good point. He said that this brings up who is really in control of the white house. Does this prove that the president is just a figurehead? On numerous occasions the VP has kept Bush out of the loop, why is that, is Cheney really running the show? If that is the case, the longer this stays in the public the more it tarnishes the administration and strips away any credibility they had. It will make it harder for them to push thru their agenda and may trickle down to house and senate races this november. If the public becomes convinced that the WH is hiding something and everything is secret, it leads to them turning on the warrantless wiretapping. Cheney's approval ratings are dismal, no one really trusts the guy and the more that image becomes attached to the whole administration the harder it will be to wash off.

I hate seeing good stories buried by this but if you look at the bigger picture, the media has finally got its balls back and ever since Katrina they havn't had a problem confronting the WH. The more they push, the farther the WH will retreat and make themselves look guilty. Everyone knows Bush and Co fucked up with Katrina and this is just another nail in the coffin. The jury is still out on the war, that was a calculated effort that has been harder to dismantle for the general public but Katrina was in your face utter incompentency. The admin cannot and will not spin their way out of Katrina, there is no changing the public opinion on that. With that momentum, I think these other scandals finally have a chance to stick.

If this guy dies its bad news for the administration, if he ends up on lifesupport and the wife says to pull the plug, will they interfer? Will it be another Terri Schavio or have they learned their lesson.
