Oasis Vs Franz Ferdinand - Alex hits back
Singer compares Liam Gallagher to a "young girl"
Alex Kapranos has hit back at Liam Gallagher after the Oasis singer compared him to Right Said Fred.
In interviews following the release of Oasis' most recent album 'Don't Believe The Truth' Liam has spoken out about various bands, including Franz, Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party.
Until now, Alex Kapranos has held his tongue. But the Franz Ferdinand singer is quoted in today's tabloid press as comparing Liam to a "neurotic young girl at a high school".
He reportedly said: "He knows he can get in the papers from being as obnoxious as he can. When I read the press that surrounded them earlier in 2005, it sounded like an extremely anxious, neurotic young girl at a high school who though that she had younger, better looking competition and was just bitching about everything about her.
"I think everybody, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, every contemporary band was at the end of some form of vitriol from him. I'm not particularly bothered by him, it just seems like bitchery from cheap neurosis."

I loved the Oasis vs Blur war of the 90s good to see there is a new battle brewing. Alex is right tho, Liam is whining a bit here. Now if Liam went after bands like The Futureheads, The Subways, Artic Monkeys, Brakes, The Rakes and the countless other post punk crap bands then I would be supporting him on this front. Bloc Party and Franz are 2 of the best bands coming out of the UK right now, there are a few others out there but for the most part the scene has been muddled up with tons of junk that blow big donkey nads. Look at Babyshambles why do they deserve the press that they get, their music is shit and its all just because of their drug addict lead singer. I am glad that Kasabian are mates with Liam, it makes me believe that he does still recognise there are other good bands out there besides his own.
