Here you can check out the latest U2 dates for their new tour, at this time Detroit is not present but will be on the 2nd leg of the tour starting in the fall. Sources tell me that we should be expecting an October show at the Palace possibly the 25th. There is only 1 Detroit date scheduled but that can change since they are not playing before or after.
From the www.u2.com site:
Once again, U2 will offer General Admission floor tickets giving fans the best view in the house for the lowest ticket price. Reserved seat tickets in the stands will also be available. In North America, general admission floor tickets will be $49.50 (plus applicable service fees). Additional ticket prices will vary per market. There will be an 8 ticket limit per person with a maximum purchase of 2 general admission floor tickets.
So I am thinking that tickets will be $60-$70 by the time all the service charges are doled out. This is expensive but then again its U2 and I missed the last 2 tours so I will be attending this one.

Update on the U2 tour dates, I have found the "Unofficial" list of shows that contain dates thru the end of the year and Detroit is listed on Oct 25th with multiple dates before and after open.
